Twenty Thousand Hit Under the Belt

Well, I was hoping I'd reach this before year's end, and I did, so 20K views and counting on my sketchbook. Go check it out, new post every day(mostly).

Well, it has been a while, but i try to not flood this blog with drivel, so only marginally newsworthy tidbits find their way in here.

Well, after several months and one or two false starts later, it would seem as though my work has found it's way onto the pages of ImagineFX. Issue 65 is on sale in the UK and Europe now. So if you're up north, do pick up a copy and let me know how it turned out as it will probably be some time before I manage to get my hands on a copy!

Hopefully there will be more to report on soon, fingers crossed.

Building Blocks

Well, it has been quite a while since my last post. Things have been somewhat manic at this end, and somewhat stagnant as well. I've been putting a lot of work into my 3D modelling, which is coming along, but never seems to get quite to the level I want, so for the time being, I will keep at it. Neverending pursuit of something or other.

I have posted some work on Behance, so you can have a gander here. In the meantime, my other two daily blogs are coming along nicely and I am happy to say that we're approaching Post#100 on the Line Animal blog. Byproduct, the Photo Blog is a few days behind in getting it's maiden century, but doing quite well. So check it out and keep supporting!

There is an interesting video project coming up that I will be directing, but for now that is all I am at liberty to say about that.

Forever Delayed

Well, it's been quite some time between updates. I'm currently in Sydney, Australia, wrapping up a very busy two week trip. The last couple of months have been a pretty trying time, professionally and i hope to make some positive progress from here on in. Not to go into details I'll simply say that it's been a rough ride, but having a number of new projects to tackle should have the desired effect.

You can keep track of my incessant sketching on my Line Animal blog and i have more interesting feeds in the works, so give me a week or two to set it up and we're good to go.

Lot On My Plate

Here's something a little different. This piece is bound for Milan. It's being shown at a plate show at Miseal Space there. The brief was 'What it means to be South African', so without getting all verbal and heavy, I'll just say it's entitled Handling the Baggage. The ceramic plate is hardly the easiest thing to work on, difficult surface to maintain control of a metal-nibbed dipping pen for example, but it did end up going in the direction I intended, which is all we can ever really hope for.

So here's the plate.

Here's an brief article that was just published on 10and5.com.

I'm still hammering away at my illustration portfolio and things are looking pretty good, although who knows when exactly it'll get done. These things tend to have a half-life and then drag on forever. Not unlike nuclear deterioration.
